What is the difference between fans and likes
Make sure you are clear on your main goals for your Page. These include building your brand, driving traffic to your website, promoting events, or increasing engagement from your audience.
Whatever your goal, make sure you are looking at the right insights to help you figure out ways to be successful. Know your audience. The more insights you have on your audience, the better equipped you'll be to deliver meaningful messages to people. Visit the People tab to learn about the people that like your page and see and engage with your posts. Check the health of your Page. That tells us that we have to, in part, address those wants.
According to this research, we can see that promotional activity on Twitter may a good place to start. Here Followers may prove of greater value than Fans or Likes as those who would make a purchase because of the brand connection are twice as likely to do so through Twitter than Facebook. ExactTarget then asked an equally important question. Would you recommend a brand or product after connecting with the company on Twitter, Facebook, or through opt-in email.
The Twitter lines were divided in thirds. This time, the numbers were a bit better for Facebook. Email, which, by the way, is far from dead, outperforms Facebook. The numbers are telling and whether we agree or not, they inspire analysis and more importantly, creativity. The population in Twitter compared to Facebook and also email is small. Internet users follow brands on Twitter. Imaging what happens when that number increases and brands also meet this growth with much more sophisticated programming and engagement strategies.
ExactTarget also noted something very important. Facebook followers and fans are very similar. The only difference is that fans are people who have subscribed to updates from a Facebook page, while followers are people who have agreed to see updated from personal profiles.
So the distinction between fans and followers is clear, but what are Facebook page likes? When somebody likes a page, they automatically become a fan of the page as well and start seeing updates from the page in their feed. Photo by John Price on Unsplash. Contact Us. September 26,
