What makes people insensitive
When we are angry, it becomes more difficult to retain a sense of self-control. Of course, lacking self-control increases the chances of saying something insensitive. Anger lowers inhibitions making us more careless of the consequences of our actions. Therefore, it is easy to be insensitive to others. In this state, we can hurt others when they do not deserve such treatment. Insensitive people may be angry inside and are lashing out at others to release their build up of anger.
Self-esteem and insecurity often are reasons behind a lot of our actions and emotional outbursts. Some people with insecurity issues can still interact with others without burdening the other person with their self-esteem issues. Insensitive people may be fighting insecurity issues so they tend to have a natural desire to put down others.
Of course, stress plays a major role in every facet in our lives, including how sensitive we are. After all, our problems usually feel worse than others. Some people simply cannot handle stress in a constructive fashion. Often, insensitive people are simply not tuned in to the needs and emotions of others. Consider how often we actively try to understand the perspective of another person.
If we spend the bulk of our time thinking about our self then we can never understand others perspective. Studies show that such people carry certain traits which are-. The question is are these people unchangeable? They hate being told that they lack something or that they are wrong somewhere. If we tell them that they need to rethink, that their behaviour is unacceptable, they might introspect and make some efforts to learn be sensitive.
We must first learn to be kind and true to our own selves. Do not belittle anybody. We must learn to be kind, empathetic, thoughtful, and compassionate towards everyone. If we all can learn to make peace with each other and ignore the things which are not important to us, teach the same to our children or the next generation.
We need to be less self-absorbed and more self-aware, open our eyes, and look around us who needs our help. Look, listen, and help. In order to help someone change their behaviour, the following steps can be taken-. Kindness and hatred both come free. One comes easy and the other comes with efforts.
It is upon us what we choose and what we become. Remember our children learn what they see and hear from us.

For the most part, people with low EQ don't know the right thing to say. They may also fail to comprehend appropriate versus inappropriate timing of saying things. For example, they might say something insensitive at a funeral or make a joke right after a tragic event.
If you react to their out-of-line response, they act as if you're being overly sensitive. Because they have difficulty understanding the emotions of others , it's no surprise that they are unable to interpret and appropriately respond to the emotional tone and atmosphere.
People with low EQ have little insight into how their emotions might lead to problems. The one thing a person with low emotional intelligence won't do is hold themselves accountable for their actions.
When something goes wrong, their first reaction is to find someone or something else to blame. They might suggest that they had no other choice for what they did and that others simply don't understand their situation. For example, if they read through your texts, it's your fault for leaving your phone unlocked.
If they fail an assignment, break a window, don't get the job, or burn dinner, somehow, someway they will make it someone else's fault. An inability to cope with emotionally-charged situations can be an indicator of low EQ. Strong emotions, whether their own or those of others, are difficult to comprehend for those with low emotional intelligence.
These individuals will often walk away from these situations to avoid having to deal with the emotional fallout.
Hiding their true emotions is also very common. The ability to regulate emotions is one of the components of emotional intelligence. People with low EQ often struggle to understand and control their emotions.
They might lash out reactively without understanding what they are really feeling or why they are so upset. A person who lacks EQ might also have unexpected emotional outbursts that seem overblown and uncontrollable.
The smallest things set them off into a tirade that can last for minutes, even hours. People with low EQ often have very few close friends. This is because close friendships require a mutual give-and-take, sharing of emotions, compassion, and emotional support, all characteristics low-EQ individuals typically lack.
Instead, people with low EQ often come off as abrasive and unfeeling. Emotionally unintelligent people tend to dominate the conversation. Even if they are asking questions and appear to be listening intently, they always find a way to shift everything back to them. Usually, they have to prove that whatever you're experiencing, they've had it better or worse.
